Perfect timing for March Madness

I'm not saying I planned it. Sometimes you just get lucky. I am so lucky, at least in the timing, not so much with everything else. This timing worked out exactly in my favor. I finished my first round of editing and passed the book off to beta readers just in time for March Madness. Yes!

For those of you that don't know, March Madness is all about basketball. I love college basketball, and having 68 teams battling head-to-head until the championship game in April is just the best. Only thing better is of course baseball, but we have a few weeks before that gets started.

With all the focus on my editing on Rise of the King: The Chronicles of Vlandamyuir Book Two, I wasn't sure I'd be able to enjoy the games. I'd hate to be writing -- Kallum swung his sword up and the shot was good! Three pointer! -- It just wouldn't work. I have to watch out at times that I don't write what goes on around me and stay focused in one world at a time.

Now, I don't need to worry. I can sit back enjoy the games and wait for the readers to get through with the book. My basketball reward for getting the book finished. Don't you just love how things work out sometimes? The next great thing -- The book should be ready for release before opening day of baseball. Wonder how that worked out so well? Guess it's just the luck of the Irish working for me.

    1. Beta's all family. Once they make sure it all makes sense it goes in for the final editing.

    1. Thanks, unfortunately my brackets are already busted and my team is out of the tournament. LOL. That is why they call it madness. Now, I'm just hoping for all upsets. Makes for some interesting games that is for sure.

  4. I love a post that includes writing and sports! My 14 year old son is my Sportscenter kid. He filled out his bracket and everything. It has been fun listening to his wins and how he laments his losses. I will wait until closer to the end and then I'll start rooting heavily for someone. We live near Fresno, Ca. and the Lady Bulldogs are in the tournament. Fresno hosts a regional so we may get to go to some games. As far as baseball goes, my Cubs are starting over, so I don't expect much.
Much success with your edits, etc. Have a great week.

    1. LOL, I have a hard time separating sports from my life. It's a huge part of it. My Giants (in baseball) are looking good. I got to catch Timmy Lincecum throwing 6 strong innings against the A's yesterday. Now that my brackets are all busted (Duke going down hurt) I'm ready for baseball!

  5. Great post! I haven't been able to watch many games...Duke lost? That does mess things up...but I did get to see my UW Huskies beat Northwestern in an NIT game the other night. It wasn't the NCAA's, but it didn't suck either.

    1. Thanks, Liv.

Yes, Duke losing messed up a lot and any games are good. The NIT isn't so bad. This tourney has been down to the wire upset crazy so while my brackets are bust it is fun to watch. I get to yell a lot and root for the underdog. One of my favorite things to do during any tournament.
